Shooting

The hills around Grantown rank among the riches in Britain for grouse, stag and pheasant.

We can organise shooting in many surrounding Highland Estates to suite all standards. You will be guided by experienced Gamekeepers and Stalkers, who will be available for guidance and advice. Grouse shooting in Scotland is very special and parties come to Speyside every August and September to enjoy the sport in wonderful surroundings. Bookings need to be made 6-9 months in advance. Pheasant and rough shooting can be arranged for November to the end of January. Again, bookings need to be made well in advance. Stalking Red deer are plentiful in the Cairngorms in July to October for Stags and October to February for Hinds. The woods, glens and low ground provide the perfect habitat for Roe Dee (Buck: April to October – Does: October to March). Again, advance booking time is required.
It should be noted that for overseas visitors it is essential to obtain a permit to bring shotguns into the country together with proof of third party insurance.

Clay pigeon shooting

For those guests who wish to practice this can be arranged at the nearby Rothiemurchus Estate. Experienced instructors and quality equipment provided. Suitable for beginners (12 years +) and challenging for crack shots.
