I have to say that Scotland is my favorite country so far. It's absolutely stunning, food is fantastic, whisky is delicious and people are the nicest we've met on all our travels. We are definitely going back. Hotels were great. I think the one you were not familiar with was the Culdearn House. It's fairly small B&B, very nice. What makes it really special is the couple running it. Mr. and Mrs. Marshal (not sure if there is two "L"). We ended up staying there for dinner both nights and Mrs. Marshall's cooking is phenomenal. Her husband takes care of making sure the guests are feeling welcomed. Mrs. Marshal planned the itinerary for our day trip with Lindsay, our driver, and they did a great job. She made reservations, planned the timing, all we needed to do was to show up and enjoy ourselves. We wouldn't be able to do that ourselves simply because we wouldn't know how to. We got a lot of local color and culture that day.
"A wonderful start to our holiday. A great welcome, lovely people. Great! We'll be back."
"This was truly memorable. Hosts who went that extra mile to make a small family wedding special. Superb."
"Luxurious and tastefuly furnished room, fabulous food and attentive service. Thank you."
"Our stay with you was a Grand Event of our trip. You have a splendid residence, a beautiful drawing room, in which to enjoy a malt by the fireplace and a lovely dining room, in which to enjoy French cuisine with reasonable priced fine wines. A peaceable, elegant retreat after a delightful day of visiting sites planned because your property is an excellent base. In my opinion , a Connoisseur's choice for reasonable priced DBB."
"Absolutely lovely - Very comfortable with incredible food. Most welcoming."
"A short note to say many thanks for your excellent hospitality and looking after us during our recent stay. Considering the short notice it was such an enjoyable stay. With your place and food, not to mention the rooms, I have no doubt that is the standard set for Highland hospitality and we wish you every success. Word of mouth is the best publicity SO, when we get home, we will recommend Culdearn House on every web site we can find!"
"We enjoyed our Christmas Break with you in your beautiful house admidst such stunning, picturesque scenery. You made us very welcome and the holiday was everything we could have wished for. Your rooms were very comfortable and we all relaxed and slept well. The food was amazing and complemented by your choice selection of beers and wines. We were overwelmed by your hospilality. Thank you and we hope to return sometime."
